However, please note that the satellite imagery can often be a year or more out-of-date, especially in remote areas.
Therefore, it is essential that you verify the accuracy of the maps and yardage charts before using them.
In particular, you should always check that there have been no significant course alterations since the imagery was captured, and that the ordering of the holes is still the same.
Additional care should be taken on hilly courses, as the distances can sometimes be inaccurate if the imagery was not captured from directly overhead.
